Trump Visits China for High-Stakes Talks with Xi Jinping as Trade and Boeing Deals Take Center Stage.

Trump Receives Grand Welcome in Beijing as High-Stakes Talks with Xi Jinping Focus on Trade and Investment.

BEIJING, CHINA (Horn post) U.S. President Donald Trump received a grand official welcome from Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday as he began a high-profile state visit to Beijing aimed at strengthening economic ties and easing tensions between the world’s two largest economies.

Trump arrived in the Chinese capital accompanied by his son Eric Trump, daughter-in-law Lara Trump, senior Cabinet officials, and a delegation of some of America’s most influential business leaders.

Among the executives attending the visit were Elon Musk of Tesla, Tim Cook of Apple, and Jensen Huang of NVIDIA, alongside leaders of several multinational corporations with major business interests in China.

The visit marks one of the most significant diplomatic and economic engagements between Washington and Beijing in recent years, with talks centered on trade, tariffs, artificial intelligence, regional security, Taiwan, and investment cooperation.

Trump said China had agreed to purchase 200 aircraft from Boeing, a deal analysts say could become one of the largest aviation agreements between the two countries in years.

Officials from both nations also discussed expanding Chinese imports of American agricultural and energy products, including soybeans, beef, and liquefied natural gas, as part of broader efforts to stabilize bilateral trade relations.

During the visit, Trump attended a state banquet at Beijing’s Great Hall of the People, where he was the guest of honor and delivered a formal toast praising U.S.-China cooperation and economic partnership.

Xi Jinping described the discussions as “constructive and forward-looking,” while stressing that Taiwan remains a highly sensitive issue that could shape the future of relations between Beijing and Washington.

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday held a banquet at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to welcome U.S. President Donald Trump on his state visit to China.

Addressing the banquet, Xi said the China-U.S. relationship is the most important bilateral relationship in the current world.

“We must make it work, and never mess it up,” Xi said, adding that both China and the United States stand to gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation.

“Our two countries should be partners rather than rivals,” he added.

Xi also said that the two sides agreed to build a constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability to promote the steady, sound, and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations, and bring more peace, prosperity and progress to the world

The summit is being closely watched by global markets and political analysts, who say the outcome could significantly influence international trade, technology competition, and geopolitical stability across the Indo-Pacific region.
