Minister of Education, Education and Science of the Republic of Somaliland Prof. Ismail Duale Yusuf spoke about the importance of the vocational school in Burao and said “The German vocational school in Burao was established in 1965 and it is limited to the areas of learning fire and handicrafts. It is a school where many people have studied and has a great history in Somaliland and will contribute to the labor market in Somaliland, the reconstruction of this school was funded by the Saudi Government Binu Salman Foundation and implemented by NRC “
The Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland Ambassador Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, inaugurated the renovation of the Burao Technical School (Burao Technical Institute), and also inspected the other parts of the Burao Vocational School.
The Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland Ambassador Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi speaking at the event emphasized the value of handicrafts for the development of society, and said:
“Burao Vocational School has a special memory for me because in the east where I was studying, students who were not in the same class joined that school and when they finished handicrafts; they immediately went to work, so handicrafts are of great value.”
On the other hand, the Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland has announced that the Government of Unity and Action should improve it
Vocational schools in the country, and he said: “As a government, we are ready to encourage vocational schools in Somaliland”
Finally, the Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland Ambassador Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, said that the closing ceremony of the Nationalization Program of the Civilian Army will be held in Burao City, saying:
“Reer Burao, I am announcing to you that the conclusion ceremony of the Nationalization Program of the Civilian Army will be held here, which is the biggest project currently underway in the country and is now nearing completion.”
Burao Vocational School was established by the German government in Burao in 1965, and many people from Somaliland studied there, they are among the famous people who were involved in Somaliland politics.
