Somaliland and Israel Deepen Diplomatic Engagement in London

London, United Kingdom (Horn Post) Senior officials from the Embassy of the Republic of Somaliland in the United Kingdom on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of the State of Israel in London, where they were warmly received in a spirit of mutual respect and growing diplomatic engagement.

The Somaliland delegation was led by H.E. Said Hassan Bihi, who conveyed the Somaliland government’s sincere appreciation to the State of Israel for its renewed recognition of the Republic of Somaliland, describing the move as historic and strategically significant for the Horn of Africa region.

During the meeting, the Somaliland delegation delivered a comprehensive briefing on Somaliland, highlighting its long-standing historical identity, democratic governance, political stability, and abundant natural resources, as well as its strategic location along key international trade routes.

The delegation emphasized Somaliland’s consistent commitment to peace, regional security, and international cooperation, noting that the country has maintained stability for more than three decades through locally driven peacebuilding and democratic processes.

Officials at the Embassy of the State of Israel expressed their gratitude for the visit and welcomed the strengthening of diplomatic engagement with Somaliland. They acknowledged the importance of dialogue and information-sharing as a foundation for deeper bilateral relations.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to enhancing cooperation and fostering mutual collaboration in areas of common interest, signaling a positive trajectory for future Somaliland–Israel relations.
