TEL AVIV — (Horn post) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed circulating rumors about his health in a video released on social media, saying:
“They say I am dead. Yes, I am dying… I am dying for my coffee; I am dying for my people. We have good people,” Netanyahu said, gesturing with both hands and lifting a cup of coffee at a café. “You can count my fingers,” he added, dismissing speculation.
The video comes amid a wave of online rumors regarding Netanyahu’s wellbeing. Observers noted that three days earlier, a clip from his first press conference since the start of the recent conflict had gone viral, with some social media users joking that artificial intelligence manipulation had made it appear he had six fingers.
Netanyahu has not been seen attending public events in recent days, fueling further speculation about his health.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement today warning that “the future of the Prime Minister of Israel is uncertain” and suggesting the possibility of his death or his family fleeing occupied territories. The statement described the situation as a “Zionist crisis and instability” and said the IRGC would “vigorously continue” efforts to target Netanyahu.
The comments come amid heightened tensions in the region, with Israeli and Iranian officials trading threats following the escalation of hostilities in recent weeks. Netanyahu’s video appears aimed at reassuring the public while pushing back against social media rumors and enemy propaganda.
Reuters verified the video’s location from file imagery of the cafe, which matched the interiors seen in the video. The date was verified from multiple videos and photos of Netanyahu’s visit posted by the cafe on Sunday.
