Nairobi (hornpost.com/) Mama Ida Odinga has said that not even for a single day did she imagine being forced to attend the funeral of her husband, Raila Odinga.
Speaking at the final funeral ceremony held at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology, Ida stated that she had always believed that the responsibility would fall on someone else.
Dressed in black, Maama Ida began by praising God’s wisdom, even as she endured immense pain. “I never imagined this would happen to me — that I would lead the family and the world in saying goodbye to Raila. I expected that would be someone else’s role,” she said.
Nevertheless, she affirmed her acceptance of God’s will. “Without pain, without sorrow, I accept the desire of God,” she added.
