Hargeisa (Hornpost) The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi “Cirro,” today attended the 22nd Graduation Ceremony of the University of Hargeisa, where he delivered a keynote speech to the graduating students and congratulated them on their remarkable achievement.
The President extended heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to the graduating students, their lecturers, parents, and the administration of the University of Hargeisa. He described this success as the result of dedication, perseverance, and resilience.
This year, the 22nd cohort of the University of Hargeisa produced 1,355 graduates with both first and second-degree qualifications. Of these, 703 (52%) were female and 652 (48%) were male.
President Cirro praised the University of Hargeisa for its vital role in advancing education and serving the community. He described the institution as a national pillar that promotes knowledge, research, and innovation, producing generations of skilled and educated citizens who can lead the nation toward sustainable progress.
He further underlined the importance of research programs for the future of Somaliland, stating that his Unity and Action Government will continue to support academic projects, research initiatives, and intellectual innovation in universities across the country, in line with the modern-day needs of Somaliland society.
The President encouraged the graduating students to use the knowledge they have acquired to serve their community and their nation, emphasizing the importance of contributing to national development, job creation, and innovative solutions that address the challenges currently facing Somaliland’s youth.
Finally, President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi delivered parental advice to the graduates, urging them to avoid all forms of harmful habits, steer clear of clan-based divisions, and uphold unity and solidarity among the people of Somaliland.
