MOGADISHU, Somalia (Horn post) The Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), Mahad Mohamed Salad, on Wednesday joined security forces for iftar in the outskirts of Dhanaane in the Lower Shabelle region, commending their dedication and sacrifices in maintaining security during the holy month of Ramadan.

Speaking to the troops, Salad expressed appreciation for the commitment shown by Somalia’s security forces in safeguarding the capital, its districts, and surrounding areas throughout Ramadan. He highlighted their role in ensuring stability, allowing civilians to observe religious practices in a safe and peaceful environment.

The NISA chief paid special tribute to various branches of the armed forces, noting that despite fasting, personnel remained on duty day and night, contributing to ongoing efforts to secure the country and uphold national security.

Salad emphasized that the vigilance and readiness of the forces have been instrumental in creating an atmosphere of calm and confidence among citizens. He described the national armed forces as a cornerstone in preserving the country’s sovereignty and dignity, underscoring the need for continued public support and recognition of their efforts.

The iftar gathering was also attended by the Commander of the Somali National Army Ground Forces, General Sahal Abdullahi Omar, along with senior officers from NISA, the Somali Police Force, and the Military Police. The event took place in frontline areas where troops are actively engaged in securing Mogadishu and its outskirts.
