Netanyahu Floats ‘Isaac Accords’ as Model for Israel–Latin America Alliance.

Israeli leader cites Abraham Accords as blueprint for new partnerships with Latin American nations, highlighting Argentina’s reforms and U.S. backing as key drivers.

JERUSALEM (Horn post) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday proposed expanding Israel’s diplomatic normalization model beyond the Middle East, suggesting a new framework dubbed the “Isaac Accords” to strengthen ties with countries in Latin America based on shared values of freedom, security and prosperity.

Speaking at an official event on April 19, Netanyahu said he hopes the success of the Abraham Accords — which normalized relations between Israel and several Arab states — could serve as a template for forging new partnerships across the Western Hemisphere.

“I hope very much that just as we had the model of the Abraham Accords… the same can happen vis-à-vis our common goals, our common values in Latin America, and it begins right here,” Netanyahu said.

He highlighted growing alignment between Israel, the United States and Argentina, pointing to political and economic changes in Buenos Aires as a sign of broader regional transformation. Netanyahu described Argentina as a leading example of reforms that could inspire other Latin American nations to deepen cooperation with Israel.

“We’ve seen enormous change in Argentina,” he said, adding that such developments could act as “a compass and a map” for both domestic and foreign policy reforms across the region.

Netanyahu emphasized that the proposed initiative would be anchored in what he called an “alliance of freedom,” supported by Washington. He praised former U.S. President Donald Trump as a key ally of Israel, citing ongoing cooperation and shared strategic goals.

During the event, attended by U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, Netanyahu also announced steps to strengthen bilateral ties with Argentina, including the approval of direct flights between the two countries and measures to ease regulatory barriers.

“We have just passed the unimaginable — free navigation, direct flight between Israel and Argentina — and we cut through all layers of bureaucracy,” Netanyahu said.

The Israeli leader framed the “Isaac Accords” as an early-stage concept, suggesting it could evolve into a broader diplomatic initiative. In a lighter remark, he hinted at future expansions, joking about the possibility of a “Jacob Accords” as a next step.

The proposal comes as Israel seeks to diversify its global alliances amid shifting geopolitical dynamics, while several Latin American countries reassess their foreign policy orientations.
