Hargeisa (Hornpost) The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Cirro) today visited the headquarters of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development of Somaliland where he was received by the Minister of the Ministry, the Minister of State, the Director General and the Heads of the various Departments of the Ministry.
The purpose of the President’s visit was to observe the smooth functioning of the important activities that the Ministry of National Affairs is responsible for, especially in terms of Income, the collection of Taxes and the development of the country’s economy.

The President gave an in-depth report to the Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Mr. Abdillahi Hassan Adan, insisting that the Ministry has made national plans and programs to increase the country’s income and economy.
The Minister briefed the President on important issues related to tax collection and financial growth that are necessary for the running of the nation’s large-scale activities, among these issues were:
- The various regulations that the Ministry operates,
- Preparation of the 2026 National Budget
- Tax Reform (such as GST taxes)
- Fighting the Bank Controller,
- Optimistic changes in economic GDP,
- The Administration of Foreign Projects before the Joint Government and Action was 4 projects, and now there are 11 projects.
- Exploring and implementing other sources of income that can contribute to the development of the country’s economy.
The President of the Republic of Somaliland Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi said that the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development is the heart of our nation, as it is the Ministry that is required to issue the budget for all the different agencies of the Government.
The President said that there has been an increase in many important tasks for the nation that are not included in the 2025 budget, such as the nationalization of the Civilian Forces and their transport and increasing the salaries of the various units of the country’s forces.
The President underlined the additional efforts required from this Ministry to meet the needs of the Nation and ensure the various services that are important to the life of the community. The President of the Republic of Somaliland has instructed the citizens of Somaliland to pay any taxes due.
The President of the Republic of Somaliland has strongly stated that good governance and the fight against corruption are the basis of the development of any society. Therefore, the Government of Unity and Action is not at all will not tolerate manipulation, both financial and administrative
