
Somaliland President Irro, Netanyahu Discuss Strengthening Diplomatic Relations.
HARGEISA, Somaliland (Horn post) The President of the Republic of Somaliland Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Irro and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a telephone conversation during which Netanyahu congratulated Somaliland on the 35th anniversary of the restoration of its independence marked on May 18.
According to a statement shared by Somaliland’s Foreign Ministry, the Israeli prime minister extended congratulations to President Irro and the people of Somaliland on the annual Independence Day celebrations.
Somaliland and Israel Reaffirm Diplomatic Cooperation
The statement said both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations and expanding bilateral cooperation between Somaliland and Israel.
Officials described the discussion as another sign of the growing partnership and increasing cooperation between Somaliland and Israel across multiple sectors.
The phone call comes amid deepening diplomatic engagement between the two sides following recent high-level contacts and official meetings involving Somaliland representatives in Jerusalem.
