Israel, Honduras Signal Expanded Cooperation After Netanyahu–Asfura Meeting.

Jerusalem (Horn post) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday met with Honduran President-elect Nasry “Tito” Asfura at the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem, underscoring a renewed commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between Israel and Honduras.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Netanyahu welcomed the president-elect and highlighted Israel’s intention to deepen ties with Honduras based on long-standing friendship while expanding cooperation into future-oriented sectors.

“I’m delighted to welcome you, Mr. President,” Netanyahu said. “We’re refashioning the relationship between Israel and Honduras to the traditional lines of friendship, but we want to also seize the future. I welcome you in Jerusalem—an ancient city that also looks forward to innovation and cooperation with you and the people of Honduras.”

The Israeli leader emphasized opportunities for collaboration across a range of sectors, including the economy, agriculture, and technology, noting Israel’s readiness to work closely with the incoming Honduran administration.

“I look forward to working with your government in economic fields, agriculture and technology—any of the areas that lie before us,” Netanyahu added. “As far as Israel is concerned, the sky is the limit.”

President-elect Asfura welcomed the remarks and expressed confidence that both countries could translate their shared vision into tangible outcomes that benefit their peoples.

“Thank you, Mr. Prime Minister,” Asfura said. “I am convinced that we will be able to implement everything you said and also lead toward peace, brotherhood, and a strong future for our countries.”

The meeting comes as Israel continues diplomatic outreach to strengthen partnerships in Latin America, with both sides signaling interest in closer political, economic, and technological cooperation once Asfura formally assumes office.
