ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia (Horn post) — Ethiopian authorities have intensified the distribution of electoral materials across the cities of Bahir Dar and Jinka as preparations gather pace ahead of Monday’s polls.
Officials overseeing the process said ballot papers, voting equipment and other essential election materials are being delivered to polling stations and local electoral offices to ensure voting proceeds smoothly across the two regions.
In Bahir Dar, the capital of the Amhara region, election workers and security personnel were seen coordinating the transportation and organization of materials in preparation for the nationwide exercise. Similar efforts were underway in Jinka, a key administrative town in Ethiopia’s South Ethiopia Regional State.
The National Election Board of Ethiopia has been ramping up logistical operations in recent days, focusing on timely delivery of supplies and readiness of polling stations before voting begins.
Authorities said election staff have also been receiving final briefings and operational guidance as part of preparations aimed at ensuring an orderly and transparent voting process.
Monday’s polls are expected to draw significant public participation as Ethiopia continues efforts to strengthen its democratic institutions amid ongoing political and economic challenges.
