Bosaso (Hornpost.com) The President of Puntland Said Abdillahi Deni spoke for the first time about the war that took place yesterday in areas of the Al-Miskaad Mountains where there was a fierce battle between the Puntland government forces and the Daesh group.
‘Somali people were not among the Daesh members who were killed in Al-Miskaad’ – Puntland President Saed Deni
“There are indeed brave Puntland forces everywhere, I urge them that the work they have done is a task of the Somali nation, the international community and the people of Puntland who know the dignity of their people they have shown courage to their own land and they will remove it” said President Said Abdulahi Deni.
President Deni reiterated that most of the ISIS fighters are foreigners.

“Foreign people are there until now, we know someone who died there, there are more than a hundred Somalis, the closest are the residents of Ethiopia and Tanzania, and those places that have brought most of the people to distant lands, people come from far Asian countries and people like Pakistan and Afghanistan are in it, it is a miracle” said Deni.
A month ago, Puntland started an operation called “Hilaac” in the mountains of Cal-Miskaad where the Daesh group is their base.
President Deni said earlier that the operation entered the second phase and the first one said that the army cleared a large area from the group.
US President Donald Trump said earlier this week that he had given the order for an attack in the Cal-Miskaad Mountains in the Bari region, where the Puntland army is fighting Daesh fighters.
According to the US military and President Trump, one of the dead was a senior officer in charge of planning the attacks, but the name of the officer and other fighters who died in the bombing was not disclosed.
