
HARGEISA (Horn post)— Abdelfatah Ismail Duale, Director General of Ministry of Investment and Industrial Development of the Republic of Somaliland, held talks with senior United Nations officials to strengthen cooperation on investment and industrial growth.
The meeting brought together representatives from the United Nations liaison office in Somaliland and delegates from multiple UN agencies operating in the region.
Broad UN Participation
Among those attending was Tadle Damte, head of the UN liaison office, alongside representatives from key agencies including the World Food Program, United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and UNICEF.
Officials said the meeting reflected the involvement of more than 17 UN agencies contributing to Somaliland’s development efforts.
Focus on Investment and Industrial Growth
DG Abdifatah Ducale outlined the ministry’s mandate and priorities, emphasizing ongoing efforts to attract investment and accelerate industrial development. He highlighted progress on policy reforms, particularly the development of frameworks governing Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).
The discussions also explored ways to enhance collaboration between the government and international partners to support sustainable economic growth.
Agreement on Closer Cooperation
Both sides agreed to deepen coordination and maintain close working relations to advance Somaliland’s investment environment and industrial sector.
