
Hargeisa, (Horn post) – Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi Irro today hosted a delegation of Australian business leaders at the Presidential Palace to discuss investment opportunities in the country’s mineral sector.
During the meeting, President Irro highlighted that Somaliland is open to international investment, describing the nation as stable, independent, and governed by clear and transparent laws that support both trade and foreign investment.
Saed Mohamed Burale, Minister of Investment and Industry, warmly welcomed the Australian delegation, emphasizing the government’s commitment to creating an open, transparent, and investor-friendly environment. He noted that such initiatives are aimed at boosting economic growth and generating mutually beneficial investment opportunities.
Also attending the meeting, Somaliland’s Ambassador to Taiwan, Mohamoud Adan Jama Galal, said he had worked extensively to facilitate the delegation’s visit. He added that attracting foreign investment in natural resources is a key component of the government’s broader strategy to promote sustainable development and maximize the country’s mineral potential.
The discussions concluded with an agreement to further explore investment partnerships in Somaliland’s mining sector, signaling growing interest from international investors.
