Berbera (Hornpost) The European Union confirmed the successful completion of a Search and Rescue (SAR) refresher training delivered to the Somaliland Coast Guard, praising the significant progress made by the trained unit.
According to the EU, the unit demonstrated excellent improvement following the refresher course provided by EUCAP and is now effectively transferring their skills and knowledge to fellow Coast Guard officers.
“With strengthened skills and improved capacity, the Somaliland Coast Guard is now better equipped to respond effectively during Search and Rescue operations, applying both practical skills and theoretical expertise to deliver proper assistance,” the EU stated.
The program marks a continued effort to enhance Somaliland’s maritime security capabilities and reinforce professional emergency response standards along the country’s coastline.
