Riyadh, (Hornpost) Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki arrived in Riyadh today for a four-day official working visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, following an invitation from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
President Isaias is accompanied by Foreign Minister Osman Saleh and a high-level Eritrean delegation. Upon landing at the Royal Terminal of King Khalid International Airport, the delegation received a warm and respectful welcome from senior Saudi officials.
During their stay, President Isaias and his delegation are scheduled to hold high-level meetings with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman and other senior Saudi leaders. The visit represents a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations between Eritrea and Saudi Arabia.
According to the official agenda, discussions will focus on:
Enhancing security in the Red Sea, a vital corridor for global trade and regional stability.
Efforts to restore stability in Sudan, as both countries explore coordinated strategies toward peace and security in the region.
This visit marks an important diplomatic engagement at a time when the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea region face evolving geopolitical challenges.
