Johannesburg, South Africa (Hornpost) — Ahead of the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Thursday joined a high-level gathering of African Heads of State and Government, the African Union, and key African partners.
The meeting, hosted by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, focused on Africa’s unified position at the upcoming G20 summit, as well as efforts to strengthen the continent’s voice in global economic and political decision-making.
Prime Minister Abiy and other African leaders discussed priority issues including global financial reforms, climate resilience, investment in infrastructure, and Africa’s representation in multilateral forums.
The pre-summit gathering is part of ongoing efforts by the African Union and member states to ensure that Africa’s collective interests are reflected in the G20 agenda as the continent seeks fairer partnerships and stronger international cooperation.
