Hargeisa, (Hornpost) October 7, 2025 – The Somaliland Police Force has successfully apprehended Aabi Muuse Cilmi, the main suspect in the murder of the late Abdi Haybe Khayre.
Following an extensive manhunt carried out by the Police, with vital support from the public and the Somaliland National Army — of which the suspect was reportedly a member — law enforcement authorities managed to capture the suspect in Hargeisa.
According to police officials, the suspect will be swiftly handed over to the judicial authorities for due legal proceedings.
The General Command of the Somaliland Police Force expressed deep gratitude to the citizens and the National Armed Forces for their crucial cooperation and active role in ensuring the success of the operation.
The arrest follows the tragic killing that occurred earlier today in Hargeisa. Intensive investigations and field operations, conducted under the directive of the Chief of Police, Major General Abdirahman Abdillahi Hassan, led to the prompt capture of the suspect responsible for the fatal incident.
