Mogadishu, (Hornpost) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today delivered the keynote address at the Somalia–U.S. Business and Investment Forum held in Mogadishu.
In his remarks, President Hassan Sheikh underlined Somalia’s readiness to integrate with the global economy and highlighted his government’s efforts to foster a peaceful and stable environment that encourages investment and trade.
“Somalia is a country rich in natural resources, with a growing market and a youthful, innovative population. We want to create an environment of peace and stability that promotes trade and investment,” the President said.
President Hassan Sheikh stressed the importance of business cooperation and technological partnership, reaffirming that Somalia will prioritize:
Development of modern infrastructure.
Investment in agriculture, fisheries, and energy.
Advancement of digital technology.
Creation of employment opportunities for youth and women to actively contribute to economic growth.
“Bilateral trade and investment are the keys to a prosperous future. Somalia seeks to become the commercial gateway of the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea,” he added.
The President also commended the Somali business community and the diaspora for their crucial role in rebuilding the nation and strengthening trade and investment ties.
