Hargeisa (Hornpost) The entry visa for Somaliland does not require Somali nationals to have a return ticket or a specific amount of funds. These requirements, however, apply to citizens of other countries.
The Somaliland Immigration and Border Control Command has issued a press release regarding the new entry and visa policy recently announced by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Airport Development.
Foreign nationals are required to meet the following conditions:
Possess a valid passport with at least six months before expiration.
Hold a return or onward ticket.
Provide proof of sufficient funds to cover their stay in the country.
Provide the address of their host or sponsor in Somaliland.
Pay the visa fee upon arrival at the airport (if not transiting overland).
These conditions do not apply to citizens of foreign countries of Somali origin, including members of the Somaliland diaspora or Somalis holding foreign passports.
Additionally, the press release noted that travelers entering via land or sea borders are required to obtain their visas in advance from the nearest Somaliland embassy or consulate, or they may apply through the Foreigners Office at the Somaliland Immigration Command prior to arrival at the border.
