Hargeisa (hornpost.com/) The President of the Republic of Somaliland Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Irro) today officially opened the 4th National Conference on Employers and Job Creation prepared by the Ministry of Labor, Social and Family Affairs.
The President made a multi-faceted speech on the occasion in which he talked about the burden we have on the unemployment rate and the small number of people who are currently working and whose wages are not enough for their living needs and or some jobs that are not reliable (Job security).
The President of the Republic of Somaliland emphasized the unemployment rate of Somaliland Youth who are the largest number (70%) of the Somaliland Community, and said:
“Unemployment is a problem that increases poverty, threatens public safety and security, and endangers the lives of young people; as it promotes migration, addictions and unhealthy practices. It is a fact that this meeting should be a part of its solution today.”
The President of the Republic of Somaliland said that the Government UNITY and ACTION will be part of the search for a solution to the causes of unemployment, which the President said is part of the country’s education system and the students it produces do not have the skills required in the labor market (vocational skills), as well as a handful of technical schools in the country this has caused jobs that require skills to be sought for foreign workers.
The President of the Republic of Somaliland also said that as a nation and as a nation, we must do justice to the equality of employment opportunities for boys and girls in Somaliland, and he said:
“We cannot talk about progress if we do not find a solution to the unemployment of our sons and daughters. The women and men of the Republic of Somaliland are relatively close as expected, so the Government will implement a system that will create equality of employment opportunities for girls and boys. We expect the same from businessmen and non-governmental organizations.”
The President of the Republic of Somaliland has instructed the Ministry of Labor, Social and Family Affairs to review the salary payment system throughout the country, to ensure that there is no hierarchy of salaries for women and men of the same job and knowledge.

The 4th National Conference on Employers and Employment prepared by the Ministry of Labor, Social and Family Affairs also made speeches by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Somaliland Mrs. Milgo Sambalooshe.
