Hargeisa (Hornpost) President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro), has announced that the recent price increases on internet and mobile call services by telecom companies have been suspended, and the prices will revert to their previous rates.
President Cirro made this announcement in a statement published on his official Facebook page, which read:
“As the President of the Republic of Somaliland, I hereby inform my people that the Government and the telecom service providers in the country have reached an agreement to suspend the recent decision to increase the prices of internet and mobile phone services — a decision previously announced by the telecom companies.
Service prices will remain at their previous rates until further notice, while the Government will urgently enter discussions with the internet and telecom service providers in the Republic of Somaliland to address this matter.”
