Hargeisa (Hornpost) The opposition party, KAAH, officially praised U.S. Senator Ted Cruz yesterday following his appeal to former President Donald Trump regarding the recognition of the Republic of Somaliland.
In a press release issued by Dr. Barkhad M. Kaariye, the KAAH Party’s Secretary of Foreign Affairs, the party expressed its full support for Senator Cruz and all other international allies who stand in solidarity with the cause of Somaliland’s recognition.
The statement, a copy of which was received by Hornpost, reads:
“The KAAH Party fully commends the efforts of Senator Cruz and other politicians who support the rights and cause of the Republic of Somaliland. This is an encouragement to the people of Somaliland who are striving for a better future and lasting peace”
The KAAH Party also called for unified national efforts to gain broader international support, emphasizing the importance of addressing national issues with responsibility and collective dialogue.
“The national interest must be a shared responsibility, and we must unite around the cause of statehood,” the statement said.
The KAAH Party has repeatedly expressed its readiness to play a significant role in advancing the Somaliland cause and the broader national interest.
