Hargeisa, Somaliland (Horntpost) — The Director General of the Ministry of Water Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Adan Abdilahi, held a meeting with a delegation from the Mohamed Bin Zayed Foundation for Humanity of the United Arab Emirates.
The visiting delegation, composed of technical experts from the UAE, arrived in Somaliland to assess the current water situation across the country and explore areas for further collaboration in the water sector.
During the meeting, the Director General, along with senior department heads and engineers from the ministry, provided the delegation with a detailed briefing on Somaliland’s water resources, ongoing development projects, and future aimed at improving access to safe and sustainable water services.
Mr. Abdilahi emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation between Somaliland and the United Arab Emirates, particularly in developing water infrastructure and resource management.
The UAE delegation commended the ministry’s efforts and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Somaliland’s development priorities, noting that the UAE government has been implementing various development projects in Somaliland, including initiatives focused on improving public infrastructure and essential services.
This meeting forms part of the broader efforts to strengthen the partnership between Somaliland and the UAE in advancing water development and humanitarian cooperation.
