HARGEISA, Somaliland (Hornpost) – The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development of Republic of Somaliland Mohamed Hassan Saleban has completed a driver training program aimed at improving road safety, professional standards, and government asset protection.
The Director General of the Ministry, Mohamed Hassan Saleban, officially closed the four-day training session, which brought together 78 drivers from the ministry’s headquarters and the Maroodi Jeh region.

The program focused on enhancing driving skills, strengthening road safety awareness, and reinforcing workplace discipline among government drivers. Participants also received guidance on safeguarding public assets and maintaining high standards of professional conduct.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, DG Mohamed Saleban praised the participants for their engagement and emphasized the critical role drivers play in the ministry’s daily operations.
“Drivers are the backbone of our operational activities. We expect them to demonstrate greater responsibility, discipline, and professionalism in carrying out their duties,” he said.
The ministry also confirmed that all participating drivers underwent vision screening to ensure they are fit to safely perform their responsibilities.
The initiative forms part of broader government efforts to improve institutional efficiency, road safety compliance, and public service delivery in Somaliland.
