Dubai, UAE (Hornpost) – The Republic of Somaliland took a significant step toward boosting foreign investment and trade partnerships as a high-level delegation led by the Minister of Commerce and Tourism, Hon. Abdirahman Hassan Nour, participated in a major business and investment conference held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The event, organized by Somaliland’s Representative to the UAE, Hon. Masoud Abdi Ali, brought together international investors, business leaders, and corporate representatives from across the Gulf, Europe, the United States, Asia, Africa, and Somaliland itself. The forum provided a platform for promoting Somaliland’s investment climate, strategic location, and untapped economic potential.
In his keynote remarks, Minister Nour emphasized Somaliland’s commitment to fostering a secure and business-friendly environment. He highlighted opportunities across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, fisheries, agriculture, tourism, and manufacturing.
Accompanying the Minister were senior officials including the Director General of the Ministry of Investment and Industrial Development, and the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Mohamed Abdirahman Hugur. They were joined by prominent Somaliland entrepreneurs who shared firsthand insights into doing business in the region.
The conference marks a growing interest in Somaliland as an emerging market for investment and international partnership.
