
HARGEISA, Somaliland (Horn post) — Somaliland police have arrested a suspect accused of killing a man in the city of Borama, authorities said Sunday.
The suspect, identified as Hamse Abdillahi Diriye, is accused of the killing of Abdisalan Mahmoud Abdi, which occurred on May 23, 2026.
According to Somaliland police, officers from the Awdal regional of Somaliland police division carried out an operation with support from residents that led to the suspect’s arrest.
Police said the suspect will be brought before judicial authorities in the coming days.
The Somaliland Police Command thanked members of the public for their cooperation with security forces, describing community support as vital to maintaining law and order.
