
The veteran journalist, researcher and Horn of Africa political analyst joins Somaliland’s KAAH opposition party as official spokesperson amid growing political activity in the region.
HARGEISA, Somaliland (Horn post) — Mahmoud Hashi Abdi, chairman of Somaliland’s opposition political party KAAH, has appointed Dr. Abdalla Abdi Ahmed as the party’s official spokesperson.
The appointment marks a significant addition to the party’s media and political communication team as KAAH strengthens its public outreach ahead of Somaliland’s evolving political landscape.
Dr. Abdalla Fatih, born in 1980 in Xariirad in the Salal region of western Somaliland, is a journalist, political analyst, researcher and author widely known for his expertise on Horn of Africa affairs, including regional geopolitics, security developments and political transformations.
He earned a Ph.D. in Media Studies from the International University of Africa in Sudan and has built an extensive career in journalism, strategic studies and political analysis.
Fatih has worked with several regional and international media organizations and research institutions specializing in media, governance and political affairs. He is particularly recognized for his investigative reporting, analytical publications and commentary on sensitive political and security developments across the Horn of Africa.
In addition to his journalism and research career, he is also an author of several books focused on media and communication studies. Among his notable works is Tubta Weriyaha, a publication examining journalism practices and modern media methodologies in depth.
Political observers say the appointment reflects KAAH’s efforts to enhance its strategic communication and policy messaging as Somaliland’s political parties position themselves for future political engagement and national debates.
