
HARGEISA (Horn post) The General Director of Somaliland’s Ministry of Religion and Endowments, Mr. Abdalle Mohamed Yusuf, has officially handed over more than 510 cartons of the Holy Quran to religious associations and women’s Quran study groups in Maroodi-Jeex region.
The distribution ceremony, held at the Ministry’s headquarters, featured remarks from Sheikh Noor Mahmoud Jama, Head of Da‘wah and Awareness at the Ministry, who highlighted the role of the Qurans in enhancing religious education and knowledge.
Sheikh Yasin Ibrahim Abdirahman, Director of Da‘wah and Educational Development, also addressed the gathering, urging associations to utilize the books effectively, particularly for Quranic interpretation and study programs.
Representatives from eight religious associations and women’s Quran study groups in Maroodi-Jeex expressed their gratitude, emphasizing that the donation would significantly support Quranic learning and religious scholarship in the region.
Concluding the ceremony, Mr. Abdalle Mohamed Yusuf encouraged the associations and study groups to ensure the Qurans reach students and the broader community, thereby achieving the objectives of the distribution initiative.
The event was attended by other directors and coordinators from various departments of the Ministry of Religion and Endowments, as well as the regional coordinator for Maroodi-Jeh.
