Nairobi (Hornpost) – The Minister of Education, Science, and Early Childhood Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Prof. Ismail Ducaale Yusuf, who is currently on a working visit in Nairobi, Kenya, continues his series of meetings with key education partners and stakeholders supporting Somaliland’s education sector.
As part of his engagements, the Minister held a private meeting with senior officials from the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), including Belay Addise, Regional Manager for Eastern and Southern Africa; Morten Sigsgaard, Senior Education Specialist and Country Team Lead; and Mohamed Sabu, a senior member of the GPE team.
The meeting focused on reviewing the current progress of ongoing GPE-funded education projects in Somaliland and exploring ways to further enhance future collaboration. Discussions also included how GPE’s support can be expanded, particularly in regions facing challenges, to ensure consistent access to quality education across the country.
The Minister’s delegation will remain in Nairobi over the coming days as part of their official mission to engage with education partners and advance Somaliland’s educational development goals.
