
Somaliland Coast Guard Commander Meets EUCAP Officials, Honors Departing Officer in Hargeisa
HARGEISA, Somaliland (Horn post) The Commander of the Somaliland Coast Guard, Admiral Ahmed Hure Haji, held a meeting with senior officials from the European Union Capacity Building Mission in Somalia (EUCAP) at the Coast Guard Headquarters in Hargeisa.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the Somaliland Coast Guard and EUCAP, particularly in maritime security, capacity building, and operational support along Somaliland’s coastline.
During the visit, Admiral Ahmed Hure Haji awarded a service medal and farewell honor to Mr. D. Bert, marking the end of his assignment in Somaliland. Officials said Mr. Bert had played a significant role in supporting and working closely with the Somaliland Coast Guard during his tenure.
The ceremony was also attended by EUCAP Somaliland Head of Office, Mr. Artsi Alanne, who praised the continued collaboration between EUCAP and Somaliland maritime security institutions.
Officials emphasized the importance of sustained partnership in enhancing coastal surveillance, combating maritime threats, and strengthening regional security in the Horn of Africa.
