Somalia Cabinet Approves Cooperation Agreements with Saudi Arabia.

Mogadishu (Hornpost) — The Council of Ministers of the Federal Government of Somalia held its weekly meeting today, chaired by Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre, where several key national issues were discussed and resolutions adopted.

During the session, the Cabinet approved two Memoranda of Understanding between the Governments of Somalia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, covering media and cultural cooperation between the two nations.

The meeting also heard security briefings from the Commander of the Somali Police Force and the Banadir Regional Police Chief, outlining progress made in maintaining security across the capital and the country at large, as well as ongoing plans to ensure safety during the upcoming Banadir Local Council elections.

The Council commended the Somali Armed Forces for their continued gains in the fight against the Khawarij insurgents, reaffirming the government’s commitment to safeguard the lives and wellbeing of Somali citizens.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet strongly condemned recent acts of violence against civilians, describing them as contrary to Somali culture and Islamic values, and instructed security agencies to bring all those involved to justice.
