Hargeisa, (Hornpost) – The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Cirro), today held an informative meeting with members of the country’s business community, during which he briefed them on the overall state of national affairs, including the outcomes of his recent official visits to the United Arab Emirates and Ethiopia.
In his address, President Abdirahman Cirro outlined the diplomatic and economic achievements resulting from his meetings with senior leaders of both countries, noting that the visits were aimed at strengthening cooperation in the areas of security, trade, investment, and economic partnership beneficial to the Republic of Somaliland.
The President assured the business community that peace, unity, and national cohesion remain the top priorities of his administration.
President also provided an update on the ongoing peace and reconciliation efforts in Erigavo, explaining that the dialogue and community reconciliation process in the region is progressing positively.
President Cirro highlighted that the international spotlight is increasingly turning toward Somaliland, particularly as the government continues its efforts to advance the country’s diplomatic recognition campaign.
He reaffirmed that peace is the foundation upon which Somaliland’s statehood and economic growth are built, emphasizing that no development or recognition can be achieved without stability.
The President commended the private sector for its vital role in economic development, investment, and maintaining national stability. He urged business leaders to take an active role in safeguarding peace and unity, and to use their influence to raise public awareness on issues that strengthen Somaliland’s sovereignty and national cohesion.
For their part, members of the business community welcomed the President’s briefing, expressing their full support for his continued efforts to promote peace, investment, and Somaliland’s diplomatic reputation abroad.
The meeting concluded in a spirit of mutual understanding and confidence, reflecting the strong relationship between the government and the nation’s business sector.
