The meeting between the two Presidents resulted in points such as:
- The two Presidents praised the deep bilateral relations and close cooperation between the two countries of Somalia and Uganda.
- The two Presidents discussed the security situation in the region underlining the need to maintain stability and security in the Horn of Africa region.
- The two Presidents jointly welcomed the start of the new AUSSOM operation.
- The two Presidents emphasized the acceleration of international support for the implementation of the Somali Security Development Plan and the development of the capacity of the Armed Forces.
- The two Presidents also agreed on the defense cooperation agreement signed by the two countries, instructing the working agencies to speed up its implementation.
- The President of the Republic of Somalia thanked his Ugandan counterpart for the warm welcome given to him and his delegation, as he extended an official invitation to President Museveni to come to Mogadishu.
