Jerusalem (Horn post) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he held talks earlier with former U.S. President Donald Trump, highlighting what he described as an opportunity to translate recent military gains into a broader agreement.
Netanyahu stated that Trump believes there is a chance to “leverage the tremendous achievements” made by the Israeli military and U.S. forces to achieve key war objectives through a deal that safeguards Israel’s vital interests.
At the same time, Netanyahu emphasized that Israel would continue its military operations, confirming ongoing strikes in both Iran and Lebanon. He said Israeli forces are targeting missile and nuclear-related programs while continuing operations against Hezbollah.
The prime minister added that Israeli forces recently carried out additional targeted operations against senior figures, warning that further action remains possible. He reiterated that Israel would continue to defend its core national interests under all circumstances.
The remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing military escalation involving multiple fronts in the Middle East.
