Mayor of St. Louis Park Nadia Mohamed Issues Strong Warning to Somali Americans.

St. Louis Park (Hornpost) The Mayor of St. Louis Park, Nadia Mohamed, has issued a strong warning to Somali communities across the United States, urging them to remain vigilant in the face of escalating actions by anti-immigrant groups in recent days.

Mayor Mohamed cautioned Somali Americans to be extremely careful if Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents show up at their homes. She emphasized that no one is required to open the door unless the agents present a judicial warrant signed by a judge. She also reminded the community that residents have the legal right to record any encounter as evidence.

She stressed that every individual—regardless of immigration status—has the right to contact a lawyer and must be aware of their legal protections.

The mayor’s remarks come at a time of heightened tension following increasingly inflammatory statements by President Donald Trump, which have raised fear and concern among Somali residents in Minnesota.

Mayor Mohamed urged the Somali community to remain united, stay informed, and support one another. She encouraged community members to resist intimidation attempts and report any harassment or unlawful targeting.
