Iran Says Israel Struck Key Industrial and Nuclear Sites, Warns of Heavy Retaliation.

TEHRAN (Horn post) Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said Israel has carried out strikes on major industrial and energy infrastructure across the country, including steel facilities and civilian nuclear sites, escalating tensions in the region.

In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Araghchi said Israeli forces targeted “two of Iran’s largest steel factories, a power station, civilian nuclear sites, and other infrastructure.” He added that Israel claimed to have conducted the attacks “in coordination with the United States.”

Araghchi criticized the strikes as a violation of ongoing diplomatic efforts, saying the operation took place during what he described as an extended window for negotiations set by Donald Trump. He warned that Iran would impose a “very heavy price” in response.

The remarks came less than 24 hours after Trump indicated that any potential U.S.-backed strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure would be delayed by 10 days to allow more time for diplomacy.

Separately, the Israeli military said it had conducted an airstrike on the Arak heavy water facility, a key site in Iran’s nuclear program located in central Iran. The extent of the damage and any casualties were not immediately confirmed.

The latest developments mark a sharp escalation in hostilities between the two regional adversaries and raise concerns over a broader conflict that could impact energy security and stability across the Middle East.
