Adiss Ababa (Hornpost) A Day after Ethiopia officially inaugurated the largest hydroelectric dam in Africa, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed spoke about a series of bilateral meetings he held with several regional leaders.
Among those meetings, Abiy Ahmed highlighted his discussion with the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
In a message posted on his social media account, Abiy stated:
“This morning, I also met with the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, with whom I discussed shared regional interests. We reaffirmed our mutual commitment to promoting peace, security, and development across the region.”
Meanwhile, the Office of the Somalia Presidency issued a brief statement regarding the meeting:
“The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, held fruitful talks in Addis Ababa with the Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, H.E. Abiy Ahmed. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, regional security, and cooperation on development at the regional level.”
