Hargeisa (Hornpost) The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro), today departed on a working visit to the State of Qatar, following an official invitation extended by the Government of Qatar. The President’s trip is expected to last several days, God willing.
This is the first time a sitting President from the Republic of Somaliland has made an official visit to Qatar, The President and his delegation traveled aboard a private aircraft.
Accompanying the President are the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Minister of Interior and National Security, the Minister of Presidential Affairs, the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, the President’s Economic Advisor, and the Chief of Staff of the Presidency.
While in Doha, the capital of Qatar, the President and his delegation will hold meetings with senior officials of the Qatari Government to discuss mutual interests. These will focus on security and stability in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and the Horn of Africa, as well as cooperation on investment, infrastructure development, and social affairs.
The President’s visit reflects his firm commitment to advancing Somaliland’s foreign policy and strengthening the country’s dynamic engagement with the international community.
