Mogadishu (Hornpost) The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, received the former famous players in the field of international football, Samuel Eto’o, the Chairman of the Cameroon Football Federation, Emmanuel Adebayor, and Jay-Jay Okocha, who arrived in the country on a historic visit.
The president thanked these stars for their visit to the country, which testifies to the security and recovery of Somalia, noting the government’s efforts in the development of sports.
“The Federal Government of Somalia is making a strong effort to develop the various sports in the country and to market the talent of the Somali youth in the field of sports”.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said that the visit of international athletes shows the growing confidence of the world in Somalia and the progress in the country, especially in terms of integration and promotion of the youth.
The event was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Federal Government of Somalia Mr. Mohamed Abdiqadir Ali, the Chairman of the Somali Football Federation Mr. Ali Abdi Mohamed, the Chairman of the South Sudan Football Federation Augustino Maduot Parek and the Chairman of the Djibouti Football Federation Mr. Suleiman Hassan Waberi.
