Hargeisa (Hornpost) The President of the Republic of Somaliland Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Cirro) together with the Chairman of the National Peace Committee today held a meeting with the Executive Committee and the Executive Director of the Academy of Peace and Development of the Republic of Somaliland.
The President welcomed the meeting with the High Committee and the Executive Director of the Academy of Peace and Development, and said that they have an important long-standing role in the construction of the Republic of Somaliland, especially in terms of peace, development and the process of democracy.
The President also said that the Academy has a good name and reputation that they have gained through the various knowledge, experience and research done by the Academy, which is a legacy of national wealth and reserves.
The President of the Republic of Somaliland assured the Academy that his Government will fully cooperate with the Academy of Peace and Development of the Republic of Somaliland.
On their part, the Executive Committee and the Executive Director of the Academy of Peace and Development thanked the President for the valuable meeting he had with him, the purpose of which was to strengthen cooperation between the new government of Somaliland and the Academy, especially in areas related to peace, Stability, Reconciliation, the Process of Democracy and Good Governance.
The High Committee of the Academy of Peace and Development has expressed great hope for the continuation of fruitful cooperation based on the common interests of the Republic of Somaliland.
Finally, the President urged the Executive Committee and the Executive Director of the Academy to restore the traditional values and roles they had in the country. The meeting ended with success and consensus.
