Hargeisa (Hornpost) The President of the Republic of Somaliland Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Irro) today held an important meeting with the National Electoral Commission led by the Chairman of the Somaliland Electoral Commission Muse Hassan Yusuf.
They had discussions with President of the Republic of Somaliland, and discussed the smooth running of the important election activities that the NEC has for the nation.
The President praised the members of the NEC for the way they managed and made it possible to hold the same elections The Presidency and of the Political Parties elections held in the country, on November 13, 2024.
The President told the members of the NEC that they have shown efficiency, diligence and more responsibility, which the international community has greatly praised for the transparent elections that have been held in our country.
On the other hand, the President thanked the National Electoral Commission for the technical and academic role they had in enabling the Biometric Registration of the various Sections of the National Forces of the President of the Republic of Somaliland.
The President assured NEC that the Government is ready to work with them on any issues that are related to them.
The National Electoral Commission also thanked the President of the Republic of Somaliland for their meeting, and informed them about the smooth running of the activities they are responsible for in the elections
NEC said that they have done in-depth research related to the challenges that have emerged from the past elections, the lessons learned and the issues that need to be corrected, so that they do not happen again.
The meeting ended with success and consensus and to work together on issues that are a priority for the nation of the Republic of Somaliland.
