Hargeisa (News from Somaliland) The President of the Republic of Somaliland Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Cirro) today held an important meeting with the members of the Hargeisa Capital Regional Council at the Presidential Palace.
The purpose of this meeting was to provide information on how to speed up the large-scale activities of the Assembly, and to promote important services for the community living in the capital of the Republic of Somaliland.
The President jointly praised the Capital Regional Council for the effective work they have done during their four years in office, and said:
“We congratulate you on the good work you are doing, the resilience and development of Hargeisa is a clear example of the patience and enthusiasm of the country and the people of the Republic of Somaliland.”
The President told the members of the Capital Region Council that the standard and motto of the Government under his leadership is unity and action which clearly defines the priority that the Government gives to the unity and trust of the people of the Republic of Somaliland wherever they are living.
The President urged the members of the capital to speed up and maintain their regular sessions and the cooperation of the Council.
The President reminded the MPs that the differences in ideas (conservative and opposition) and political debates are the beauty of the Republic of Somaliland and the maturity of our democracy.
Finally, President Abdirahman Irro gave the capital’s parliamentarians an example that our capital is in competition with other capitals in Horn of Africa, Therefore, the positive image and development in the capital of the Republic of Somaliland can play an important role in seeking the recognition we want from the international community.
The President’s meeting was accompanied by the Minister of the Presidency of the Republic of Somaliland, the Minister of Internal Affairs and Security of the Republic of Somaliland, the Minister of Local Government and Development of the Republic of Somaliland, the Governor of Marodijeh Region, other side Mayor of Hargeisa the Capital of Somaliland and Members of local council and the Secretary of the Local Government of Hargeisa and the Deputy Mayor of Hargeisa, the Capital of Somaliland.
