Hargeisa (hornpost.com/ .net) The Head of State His Excellency Ismail Omar Guelleh, this Wednesday afternoon, at the Palace of the Republic, received his Somali counterpart, M Hassan Cheikh Mahamoud, on a 24-hour working visit to Djibouti, where he arrived today, earlier in the morning.
The hearing between President Guelleh, Acting President of the IGAD and Mr Hassan Cheikh Mahamoud served as an opportunity to evoke the close bilateral relations between the two countries, woven by the thread of history, cultural and linguistic proximity and geographical proximity.
The interviews then focused on the evolution of the situation in Somalia, especially on the progress of this sister country in ensuring the integrity of assets and people established throughout its territory.
It should be noted that, under the auspices of its 1st Magistrate, His Excellency Ismail Omar Guelleh, the Republic of Djibouti shall continue to work in favour of peace, stability and economic reconstruction of the Somali sister nation.
In addition to bilateral issues, discussions between the two Heads of State have also been expanded to several other topics of common interest for the two countries and the two peoples and, as well as relevant to the agenda in the region, on the continent and internationally.
During this meeting with President Guelleh, Mr Hassan Cheickh Mahamoud was accompanied by a high-level delegation including, among others, the Minister of Justice of Somalia, Mr Hassan Maalin Mahamoud and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the Republic of Djibouti, Mr Salad Ali Djeleh.
Djibouti side, in addition to the new Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Spokesperson of the Government, Mr. Abdoulkader Houssein Omar, the Minister of Justice and Penitentiary Affairs, Human Rights Officer, Mr. Ali Hassan Bahdon and the Diplomatic Advisor to the Head of State, Mrs. Fathia Djama Oudine, took part in this event.
