Hargeisa (hornpost.com/) The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Abdirahman Dahir Aden, said that there is nothing that the failed government of Somalia can do to prevent the upcoming recognition of the Republic of Somaliland.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs said this in a statement published on the X website (Twitter) in response to the letter from the Somali president stating that he will not transfer jurisdiction over ports to the United States.
Minister Abdirahman Dahir Aden described Somalia’s statement as a “desperate attempt” from a failed government.
“This is a desperate and wrong attempt from a failed government in Somalia,” said the Somaliland Foreign Minister, adding; “It is a sign of a corrupt system that is reaching its end and is bent on suicide.”
The Minister stressed that there is nothing Somalia can do about the upcoming recognition of the Republic of Somaliland.
On the other hand, the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mohamed Abdirahman Hassan, responded to a letter sent by the President of the self-governing government of Somalia to the United States urging him to hand over the Red Sea coast and not to govern himself.
The Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to the letter with a post on his Twitter account X (Twitter) We have clarified that the international community’s interest in the relationship with the Republic of Somaliland is based on their desire and their recognition that Somaliland is a country that can be dealt with and trusted, an issue that Somalia cannot compete with.
The Director General noted that Somaliland’s historical history has shown stability on a firm footing, democratic progress, and transparent governance, which makes it a country worthy of interacting and engaging with the international community.
Director General Mohamed Hassan described Somalia as a “failed state” plagued by instability, terrorism, and decades of misuse of international aid, noting that it was time to hold it accountable.
The Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that it was the right time for the international community to engage with Somaliland.
