PRESIDENT HASSAN SHEIKH MOHAMUD ADDRESSED THE AFRICAN ENERGY CONFERENCE

Darussalam, January 28, 2025; The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who spoke at the African Energy Conference, presented the Somali government’s plan to increase the quality and capacity of energy, which is the basis for the development and change of modern Somalia.

The President pointed out that Somalia has many resources related to energy renewal, such as the Sun and the Wind, which in the future can be an important source of energy that is friendly to the environment.

“Somalia’s progress requires cheap and accessible energy. Today half of our people “50%” do not have enough electricity, so we plan to strengthen our investment in Energy, to enable the implementation of industry, the modernization of infrastructure and the strengthening of social services”.

President Hassan Sheikh accompanied by the Minister of Energy and Water Mr. Abdillahi Bidhan Warsame and the Minister of Finance Mr. Bihi Iman Cige presented to the international stakeholders to participate in the investment in Somalia’s energy projects which is a big market.

Also, the African Energy Summit, which was attended by the leaders of the African continent, issued today “Daru-Salaam” Statement, which is a promise to ensure that 300 million Africans receive enough electricity by the year 2030.

Minister of Health Development Somaliland held a consultation meeting with Hargeisa Reporters.

The minister promised as much as he can to work on dealing with the recommendations of journalists on the health of the country.
