Adiss Ababa (Hornpost.com) Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Gedion Timothewos, visited the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) located in Addis Ababa. During this visit, he was accompanied by the Minister of Health, Dr. Mekdes Daba.
On the occasion, Dr. Gedion held discussions with the Director of Africa CDC, Dr. Jean Kaseya.
Dr. Gedion highlighted Ethiopia’s commitment to the African Union Agenda 2063 both as a member state and as the host country. He expressed Ethiopia’s dedication to providing comprehensive support, especially in strengthening Africa’s health sector, and underscored Ethiopia’s contribution to ongoing efforts in this regard.
He also stated that Ethiopia, as a host nation, would continue to provide the necessary infrastructure to support African Union institutions and strengthen previous support efforts.
Dr. Jean Kaseya, on his part, showcased the institutional progress achieved by Africa CDC to the ministers. He highlighted the center’s efforts in improving public health services and conducting quality health research and studies. He also urged Ethiopia to continue its support in strengthening the center.
