Cairo (Hornpost.com) The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and the President of the Republic of Egypt Mr. Abdulfatah Al-Sisi held an important meeting at the Al-Itihad Palace in Cairo.
In this meeting, the two Presidents agreed that the relationship between the two countries should be brought to a level of strategic cooperation that reflects the strengthening of historical relations between the two countries and how to develop the fields of education, judiciary, politics, security, traffic and economy.
In terms of education, Egyptian Universities, especially Al-Azhar Alsharif University are increasing scholarships and training for Somali students and professionals, in order to develop different knowledge and skills.
Also, the two Presidents agreed to speed up cooperation between the institutions of the two countries, especially the Judiciary and Security. Egypt has shown how it stands by the war between the government and the Somali people against terrorism.
President Hassan Sheikh and President Abdulfatah Al-Sisi witnessed an agreement signed between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Somalia and Egypt regarding the exemption of diplomatic passports of the Federal Republic of Somalia, in order to promote diplomatic cooperation, and the two governments are discussing how to facilitate the movement of all citizens of Somalia and Egypt and remove the burden on immigration.
The two Presidents emphasized the importance of this cooperation to promote relations between the two countries, and instructed the joint Committees of Somalia and Egypt in charge of implementing these agreements to speed up the completion of the vision of brotherly cooperation between the two countries.
