LONDON (Horn post) British police are investigating a stabbing attack in London that left two Israeli nationals injured, with early findings indicating the suspect is a 45-year-old British man born in Somalia, authorities said.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the incident has been formally declared a terrorist attack and said officers are working with national security services as the investigation continues.
Suspect Arrested, Footage Released
Police released body-worn camera footage showing the arrest of the suspect in the Golders Green area. The video appears to show officers repeatedly ordering the man to drop a knife before deploying a Taser and taking him into custody.
Authorities said the suspect approached officers while armed, prompting the use of force.
Victims in Stable Condition
The victims, aged 76 and 34, both identified as Israeli nationals, were hospitalized with stab wounds but are reported to be in stable condition.
Ongoing Investigation
Police said searches are underway at a property in southeast London believed to be linked to the suspect. Detectives are also examining a separate incident earlier the same day at another address, which may be connected.
Officials said one line of inquiry is whether the attack deliberately targeted the Jewish community in London.
The case underscores heightened concerns over security and potential hate-motivated violence, as investigators continue to determine the motive behind the assault.
